COLLECTIVE & SOCIAL LEARNING: Design and integrate social collaborative learning into the learning approach

This unit introduces learners to the concepts of collective and social learning and the different ways these can take place. The unit looks particularly at how the specific technologies of e-learning programs (with online discussion elements) and social media are impacting on collective and social learning – and correspondingly on the roles and required skill sets of L&D professionals.

Learning Objectives:

• Understand the concepts and evolving practices of collective and social learning.
• Be able to facilitate collective and social learning within an e-learning program.
• Be able to use social media to support collective and social learning.
• How to determine the use of social collaborative learning for organisational learning, knowledge sharing and knowledge management

SCL. Collective and Social Learning is part of the CIPD Diploma in Learning & Development and bears credits towards the completion of the qualification.
